Monte Waterfield grew up in Winter Park, Fl. Her earliest interest in art blossomed at the annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival, where she would spend hours studying the works of amazing art. After a 30-year career in education, while raising four amazing daughters, she has relocated to the Alpharetta area near two daughters and lots of grandchildren.

Monte is primarily a self-taught artist. She learned through trial-and-error while working through all types of media and studying the great works of art that the world has to share. It was only in recent years, after life gave her a few tumbles, that she embraced her worth as a working artist.

Monte works primarily in watercolor, specifically watercolor batik on rice paper. She currently works from her home and also does some work as a potter.

She believes art speaks to you; you just must be quiet to hear it.
