I am a native Georgian and have loved drawing and painting from a young age. I graduated from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at UGA with a BFA in 1976. I have always loved to create; however, my life's journey took me into ministry, marriage, raising four sons, and working as a school counselor. I have enjoyed it all, but my artistic endeavors were on pause for many years. Seven years ago, I began taking oil painting classes and fell in love with painting all over again. My family and I have lived in TN, AZ, CA and returned to GA, residing in Gainesville. I love painting many different subjects with both brush and palette knife: landscapes, boats, still life, animals, and places I have been. I would say I am a representational impressionist, growing and evolving. I am an associate member of the Oil Painters of America and my paintings have been accepted in OPA’s national showcase as well as local juried exhibitions in Cumming and Johns Creek, GA.
