I am new to the artistic world. After retiring in 2019, I decided to take drawing, watercolor and more recently acrylic painting classes at Kennesaw State, Johns Creek and the Alpharetta Art Center. I didn’t realize how much I would enjoy it …very relaxing and self-self-satifying. After a few classes I realized this was becoming a passion and I wanted to learn more. I decided to return to school for an associates degree in Art Studio from Georgia State University. While there I was exposed to a multitude of art mediums which included drawing (charcoal/ink), art history, 2D design (color theory), 3D design and even performance art! I graduated this April with a greater appreciation of art.

I am from the Boston area where I received a BA in English at Boston College. My husband and two sons moved to Alpharetta, GA about 15 years ago as a result of a job opportunity. I love it here but do miss New England and the ocean. One of my goals is to paint oceanic images that reflect those fond memories and also use the rich, warm tropical colors from places we have visited; ie Jamaica, Costa Rica and Hawaii. I enjoy volunteering at the Alpharetta Art Center. And I hope the Alpha Arts Guild will help me increase my artistic skills and learn from more experienced artists.
